MANAGING PARTNER

Carlos Eduardo Lessa Brandão 

Since 2005 he has dedicated himself to consulting, participation in boards and executive education. He is a member of the boards of Construtora Santa Ângela and JJR Participações. Former board member of Cemig, CEG Rio (Naturgy), Progen S/A, Multiner S/A and Transpetro S/A (chair of the statutory audit committee). He was a member of the advisory boards of Empreendimentos Itahyê and IBES Ltda.

He has worked for 20 years as an executive in heavy construction, IT, payment processing, telecommunications, e-commerce, and GIS. His activities included business development and M&A with domestic and international partners, serving as CFO and executive director of holding and portfolio companies.

In ESG, he is a member of the Standards Advisory Council of B Lab (USA). He was a member of the boards of IBGC – Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance, Ethos Institute, ISE-B3, Ethical Fund and Exame Magazine Sustainability Guide. He was also a member of the Stakeholders Council of GRI – Global Reporting Initiative (Netherlands), of the Technical Review Committee of GISR – Global Initiative for Sustainability Ratings (USA) and of the Global Governance Committee of ICGN – International Corporate Governance Network (UK).

He is a civil engineer (UFRJ), with a master’s degree in energy planning (COPPE/UFRJ) and a doctorate in history and philosophy of science – thesis on Sustainability and Companies (HCTE/UFRJ) with an Executive MBA in Finance (IBMEC). He attended executive education programs at London Business School (management), Harvard, IMD and University of Chicago (governance) and the Universities of York and Cambridge and ICGN (corporate sustainability).

He is a securities portfolio manager authorized by Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM), a certified board member by the IBGC (CCA+) and a certified consultant in cultural transformation (CTT-BVC).

BACKGROUND

Founded in 2022, Celb77 continues the activities carried out by its managing partner at JFLB from 1995 to February 2022.

Founded by business executive José Flávio Lessa Brandão, from 2008 to February 2022 JFLB Intermediação Comercial e Consultoria Ltda (JFLB) offered consulting and training services in governance, sustainability and value to 30 clients including companies, holdings, business schools and NGOs.
